Diane Huss
Resident Trainer

Diane began her equine career in her teens, training and showing hunters and jumpers. In the mid 1980’s she campaigned her own horses on the Appaloosa Circuit. In the early 1990’s she won multiple national and world titles in a variety of disciplines. In 1995, she started Huss Sport Horses, focusing on Dressage, Combined Training and In-Hand Competition.

Diane has many years of training with dressage experts such as George Williams and Curtis Sage from Tempel Farms in Old Mill Creek, Illinois. She has also participated in many clinics with Cindy Ishoy, Jane Savoie, Brett Moon, Carole Grant and Brad Cutshall. Diane continues to train with Brad today.

Diane’s Training Philosophy

A common sense approach with a fun, workmanlike technique. She has found that through her years of experience that every horse and rider is different and must be approached to suit their individual tastes, talents and weaknesses.

Currently, Diane owns two horses: Sunny, a PSG/I1 schoolmaster Appaloosa gelding which she uses for lessons, and Kadima, a Trakehner/Shire gelding, currently competing at 4th/PSG level. Diane travels to clients’ farms and other stables to instruct and train. Depending on her show schedule, she also breaks and starts young horses. Diane attends recognized shows with her own horses, as well as with clients. She shows many young and mature horses at in-hand shows and various breed inspections. When time permits, she will also go to schooling shows.

For more information, please contact Diane Huss.
